Who We Are

A student-led ensemble dedicated to performing and preserving the works of F. Melius Christiansen and the St. Olaf choral tradition.

Each spring, The Christiansen Choir will perform a concert and/or chapel service featuring a Christiansen motet in its entirety. This concert/service will also feature Christiansen’s works for organ, along with other choral works which serve to enhance the chosen selections. Each major performance by The Christiansen Choir will also include a lesser known Christiansen anthem which will be recorded in order to preserve these works.

Our Goals

  • To preserve lesser known works within the St. Olaf choral tradition

  • To provide opportunities for students to collaborate musically outside their official ensembles.

  • To provide opportunities for first-year students to develop musical skills in a mixed-choir.

  • To provide more leadership opportunities for choristers on campus.
